MANUU Action Committee began the movement 2 months ago against irregularities in Urdu University in a peaceful and democratic manner. In its first phase it was tried to awaken central government through several thousand telegrams. In the second phase memorandums were sent to President Pratibha Patil, prime minister Manmohan Singh, UP chairperson Sonia Gandhi, vice present Hamed Ansari besides union minister Kapil Sibbal, Purandeshvari, Mrs. Syeda Hameed Chancellor MANUU through speed post/registered post and email.
The committee with the MPs of other 8 parties led by former MP Mr. Aziz Pasha met union minister Kapil Sibbal and demanded CBI probe into the irregularities prevalent at MANUU; on which the minister assured the delegation that necessary measures will be taken in this regard.
It is highly expected that the democratic peaceful movement run by the action committee will bore fruits. A special meeting of action committee will be held to decide future strategy; the date and time will be announced shortly after consulting the authorities.
In a press statement Nusrath Mohiuddin convenor Action Committee thanked the participants for the successful organization of dharna and appealed the Urdu lovers and students to intensify the movement in the coming days.
