Proposal to extend Hyderabad Metro Rail upto Shamsabad Airport

Hyderabad: Gauging the tremendous response of the people to metro rail, Govt. is seriously considering extending its second phase to Shamsabad Airport.

CM of Telangana State, Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao has declared a number of times that metro rail would be extended upto airport. PM Mr. Narendra Modi who inaugurated Metro Rail last week also had detailed discussions with IT Minister, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao regarding this project.

There are two possibilities: one is to connect metro rail from LB Nagar via Chandrayangutta to Shamsabad and the other option is to connect it from Hi Tech City via Outer Ring Road.

It is reported that in case, the airport is connected by Metro Rail, many traffic problems could be resolved.
