Proposal to change the name of KBR National Park delayed

Hyderabad: Govt. had announced two years back that the name of KBR National Park would be changed soon but nothing has happened so far. Soon after assuming change charge, TRS Govt. changed the name of Aacharya Ranga Agricultural University and named it after Dr. Jai Shankar.

A minister of TRS Govt. told that in order to acknowledge the services of the kings of Asifia Dynasty, KBR National Park would be renamed as Asif Jahi National Park.

Mr. Abid Rasool Khan, Chairman of Minorities Commission wrote a letter to Mr. KCR requesting him to ensure that the name of KBR National Park is renamed as Meer Barkat Ali Khan Park but no action has been taken so far.

It may be noted that former wife of Nawab Meer Barkat Ali Khan had called on the CM of Telangana State, Mr. KCR to named this park after the name of her past husband. KBR park which was originally known as Chariyan Palace belonged to Prince Mukaram Jah.

Ms. Rani Indira Dhanrajgir Ji had also written to CM supporting the proposal made by Mr. Abid Rasool Khan.
