Extending its mission of preservation of Waqf properties, Deccan Waqf Properties Protection Society has made representation with constitutional authorities of Palestine to protect Hyderabadi Waqf properties and appealed for their better use in Palestine.

Under the auspices of Mr. Zahed Ali Khan, Mr. Osman bin Mohammed Alhajari president Deccan Waqf Properties Society submitted a written memorandum to Palestinian authority yesterday evening and appealed protection of properties endowed by the ruler of erstwhile Hyderabad state Mir Osman Ali Khan near the Holy places in Palestine and requested to allot them for Hyderabadi visitors. Memorandums were submitted to Grand Qazi of Palestine Mahmoud Siddiq Al Habash and His Excellency Mr. Adnan Mohammed Jaber Abualhayjaa, Ambassador of Palestine.

The memorandum stated that the last Asif Jahi ruler of Hyderabad Mir Osman Ali khan was a kind and generous ruler. He not only constructed rubats in Makkah Mukarrama and Madina Munawwara but also endowed many properties in the third Holy city Jerusalem, the city of first Kaba; one among them was named as ‘Osman Manzil’.

It was requested to identify the Waqf properties in the Holy city and ensure their protection. The memorandum claimed that a number of Muslims from Hyderabad visited Baitul Maqdis; they should be provided accommodation in properties donated by Asif Jahi ruler. It would strengthen Indo-Palestinian ties. Palestinian authorities were told that the documents available with the archaeology and Nizam Trust would be collected and sent to them so that identification of the said properties would become easier.

The memorandum was submitted to Palestinian authorities in a function held at the residence of Chief Editor Rehnuma-e-Deccan Mr. Syed Viqaruddin Quadri.

A copy of the memorandum was also presented to Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali requesting him to contact Palestinian authority on government level and ensure protection and better use of Hyderabadi Waqf properties present in the Holy city.
