In a situation well-to-do people organize functions and parties in various function hall were a large quantity of leftover food is thrown in dustbins. This has become a routine matter. Islam teaches that food items should not be wasted like this. There are many people who are starving and they are forced to beg.
According to Govt. statistics, there are about 8000 houseless people who spends their nights at bus stops , footpaths and Railway station. They don’t get even one time meals. If any religious or social organization comes forwards and collects the leftover food from function halls and give them to the needy, a lot of hungry people can be fed.
Hazath Abu Moosa-Al-Ashrai narrated a Hadith that Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said that fed the hungry, take care of the patient and free the innocent prisoner. If any organization follows this Hadith it can help the hungry people.
