Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, Director of an Islamic institute while addressing the participants of English Elocution competition stressed the need to gain proficiency in English language for propagation of Islam. He further told that our ancestors did not oppose learning any other language. The companions of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) learnt many languages. Hazrath Salman Farasi translated the Quran into Persian language. When Islam reached India, a translation of Quran was presented to the Indian ruler. Maulana Qasim Nanotvi, Director of Darul-uloom, Devband introduced Sanskrit into its curriculum. It is therefore essential for Muslim Scholars to learn English. They should consider it as an important part of their mission.
Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Engineer who was the Judge of the competition advised the students to gain expertise in English.
