New Delhi, May 03: With Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden’s elimination in Abbottabad in Pakistan, the BJP said it only confirms that the neighbouring country was the “epicentre of global terror” and raised the pitch for execution of the pending death penalty of Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru.
While Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj in her tweet called Laden “humanity’s enemy number one”, BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said he (Laden) was the most visible and dangerous face of global jihadi terror.
“The US did not forget the incident of 9/11 and finally killed the terrorist Osama bin-Laden who was hiding in Pakistan but what happened to our government which is not executing the death punishment of Afzal Guru, who was convicted of conspiracy in the attack on the Indian Parliament” BJP president Nitin Gadkari said in Jaipur.
Prasad told reporters in Delhi, “We demand that all the terrorists responsible for 26/11 terror attacks from across the border must be handed over to India. It is a litmus test for Pakistan. Government of India must acknowledge this fact in all future talks with Pakistan.”
The BJP leader said Osama’s elimination in the backyard of its capital, Islamabad, was the final confirmation of the hard fact that Pakistan remains the epicentre of global terror where terrorism and terrorists both are allowed to be encouraged and given shelter.”
BJP vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said the fact that Osama was found in Pakistan demonstrates that the country is a “safe haven for terrorism” and “a factory of terrorism”, and said this should be a matter of concern for the world.
Describing Osama as the “chairman of the factory of terrorism”, Naqvi said a large number of terrorists who have “come out of this factory are still free and need to be eliminated”.
