Government’s announcement regarding old city are limited only to paper works. Although government announces various measures and begins developmental works but they remain incomplete even after several years. Chief Minister of previous Andhra Pradesh State Mr. N Kiran Kumar Reddy had laid the foundation stone of the first e-library of the state in Barkas, Chandrayangutta in the year 2011 and also announced to sanction Rs. 50 lakh rupees for the same. He had told that the library after its completion will function for 24 hours so that old city students can benefit from it. But no official is in a position to answer the questions like at what stage the construction of library is in? And when will it be complete?
Similarly former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr. Rajshekhar Reddy had announced sanction of Rs. 2000 cr for construction and developmental works in old city but that proposal is also thrown in cold storage.
