Lucknow: All prominent religious places and shrines in Uttar Pradesh will begin getting uninterrupted electricity from August, an official said on Monday.
The UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), which had initiated the process of creating separate feeders for these places following Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s instructions a few months back, was on the verge of completing the task, the official said.
“We are on schedule of making 24×7 power supply operational at these religious places by August,” the official told IANS.
Two major religious places – Ayodhya and Varanasi already have separate feeders for important religious spots and shrines. While Ayodhya is the birth place of Lord Ram, Varanasi is the seat of Lord Shiva.
It is also represented in the Lok Sabha by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
