Proliferation of stray dogs at Govt. maternity hospital Petla Burj

Pregnant women and their relatives are already facing problems such as lack of medical and non medical staff and faulty arrangements and insufficient infrastructure at Govt. Maternity Hospital, Petla Burj. Now the proliferation of stray dogs has added to their woes.

On November 18, a woman named Mamta belonging to Mahboob Nagar, delivered a baby but due to alleged negligence of doctors and staff the newborn was mauled by cats.

The patients narrated their woes saying that outpatients have to stand for hours in queue to get the pass. Relatives of the patients alleged that there is no facility in the modern maternity hospital constructed with the cost of Rs. 20 crore. On the visit to the hospital the first sight was the stray dogs wandering about aimlessly at the hospital premises while a large number of cats were also seen.
