Hyderabad, December 05: Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code has been imposed in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, prohibiting processions, rallies and public meetings between 6 am on Saturday and 6 am on Monday in the wake of anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition on December 6.
The prohibitory orders has been imposed to thwart attempts by some groups to disturb communal harmony on the anniversary day of the Babri Masjid demolition, Hyderabad City Commissioner of Police B Prasada Rao said.
“Certain groups are trying to create disturbances affecting public peace and order to incite communal animosity between different communities,” Rao said in a notification.
He warned that any person violating the orders would be liable for legal prosecution.
