Prohibitory orders in Hyderabad ahead of by-elections

Hyderabad Police on Wednesday announced imposition of prohibitory orders in the city from tomorrow to May 29 in view of forthcoming by-elections.

Hyderabad City Commissioner of Police Anurag Sharma who imposed prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC prohibited assembly of five or more persons, every kind of procession, dharna or public meetings.

Police have also prohibited individual/groups of individuals from making any speech, which is likely to create religious animosity between different communities.

The move, is also seen as preparations of the Hyderabad police to deal with the situation in view of Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy’s likely appearance before a CBI court at Gagan Vihar in Hyderabad on May 28, in connection with a disproportionate assets case against him being investigated by the CBI.

The prohibitory orders shall be in force from 0600 hours on May 24 to 0600 hours on May 29.
