Hyderabad, January 20: Anticipating trouble from pro-Telangana students who were demanding postponement of semester examinations till separate Telangana is created, the city and the Cyberabad police have imposed prohibitory orders at all the examination centres in the city. The OU post-graduate examinations are scheduled to be held from tomorrow and would continue till February 7.
City police commissioner A K Khan, in a notification issued today, said the prohibitory orders were imposed to prevent any disturbances or riots at the examination centres. Police prohibited assembly of persons around 500 yards from the examination centres. The prohibitory orders would be in force from 8 a.m to 6 p.m on the examination days.
Police officers, military personnel and Home Guards on duty, flying squads of education departments and bonafide funeral processions are exempted from the prohibitory orders. Khan said any person violating the prohibitory orders would be prosecuted.
The Cyberabad police have also imposed prohibitory orders at all the examination centres. The prohibitory orders would be in force from today till February 8.
