Prohibitory order in city

With a view to maintain order and peace in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner M. Mahendar Reddy issued orders prohibiting public meetings and processions in the City without obtaining prior permission of Zonal Dy. Commissioners of Police, Law and Order concerned, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Law and Order or Jt. Commissioner of Police, Co-ordination & Security or Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad. The order will be in force from 6 am on September 18 to 6 am on September 24.

He also prohibited carrying of arms like swords, spears, knives, sticks with or without flags, bludgeons, guns, explosives and other offensive weapons in the city. He also prohibited gathering of persons on public roads disturbing peace and causing inconvenience, annoyance or danger to public.

Use of mikes/public address system by different organisations around the Secretariat premises, including BRKR Building, GHMC building, Commissioner of Fisheries building, Mint Compound, Nizam College and its surroundings, Telangana / A.P. Legislative Assembly premises and surrounding roads, Public Garden Nampally, Upper Tankbund, I–MAX, Rotary and NTR Marg roads also fly-over road leading from Secretariat to Visweswarayya statue, Khairatabad, playing music, singing or speeches or broadcasting through loud speakers are also prohibited. However, police officers on duty, Military personnel, Home Guards and bonafide funeral processions are exempted from this order.

The Police Commissioner informed that any person violating the prohibitory order will be prosecuted. (NSS)
