Hyderabad, March 14: Police today extended by one more week the prohibitory orders it clamped around the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Council building here, ahead of the ”Chalo Assembly” call given by the Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) for tomorrow.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner A K Khan prohibited any kind of assembly, holding of processions and public meetings (under relevant sections of Hyderabad City Police Act) that has potential to cause disturbance to public peace and safety within a radius of one kilometre of the AP Legislative Assembly and Council building.
The ban order will remain in force till March 20.
The MRPS has chalked out a two-month agitation plan to press its demand for introduction of Scheduled Castes categorisation bill in the ongoing session of Parliament and has given a call for a protest rally on March 14.
