Every year Urdu Academy Delhi presents All India Bahadur Shah Zafar Award to writers and intellectuals who have dedicated a large part of their lives in writing and reviewing. Academy has decided to give this award for the year 2013 to Prof. Syeda Jaffer for her academic and literary services.
Earlier she has been presented 19 awards including Qazi Abdul Wadood Award of Bihar Urdu Academy, Sada-e-Mir award of Mir Academy Lucknow, Firaq Award and Dr. Zoor Award of International Urdu Conference Delhi and Makhdoom Award of Andhra Pradesh Urdu Academy and another award from West Bengal Urdu Academy.
