Prof. Mohammed Suleman Siddiqui, former Head of the Department of Islamic Studies, Vice Chancellor of Osmania University and Registrar of Maulana Azad National Urdu University was given Maulana Azad Award by Dy. CM of Telangana State, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali on the occasion of National Education Day which is the birthday of first Education Minister of Independent India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The function was organized at Ravindra Bharati by Govt. of Telangana. Present on this occasion were Mr. Ahmed Nadeem, IAS Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Jalaluddin Akbar, IFS, Director of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Secretary of Urdu Academy. The function was conducted by Mr. Arshad Zubairi.
