Two-time MLC K. Nageshwar, who is contesting for Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency as an Independent candidate in the ensuing general elections, has appealed to the constituents to donate Rs 10 apart from casting vote in his favour in order to create confidence and strengthen democracy in the country.
Speaking at Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency coordination preparatory committee meeting at Lakshmi Sai Garden in Malkajgiri on Sunday, Prof. Nageshwar said the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency has become a hub for “pairavikars” (middlemen). Instead of making Greater Hyderabad as a center for investments, there was urgent need to transform the city into a comfortable place to live in with improved living standards.
Lamenting that 4,000 tmcft of water from the Godavari and Krishna rivers were flowing into the Sea, Nageshwar said the chronic problem of severe scarcity of drinking water in the city could be permanently solved if even 20 tmcft of Krishna-Godavari waters were diverted to Greater Hyderabad. Assuring that he would relentlessly fight for solving the citizens’ burning problems, Prof. Nageshwar appealed to the people of the constituency to extend support to his candidature.
AIIEA leaders K. Venugopal, K. Ramesh, Bank Employees’ Federation leaders Venkatramaiah, LIC All India general secretary Venugopal, RBI Employees’ Federation leaders G.
