In a note, Department of Communication and Journalism head Prof. K Stevenson said that Prof. Kousar J. Azam, with a distinguished career spanning over three decades, she is a recipient of several national and international awards like those awarded by Ford, Fulbright, and Rockefeller Foundations, has been member of the International Committee of American Studies Association of USA, and has had the distinction of being the plenary speaker at inauguration of International American Studies Association in 2003 at the University of Leiden, Amsterdam. Widely travelled, Azam has written/ edited eight books, several articles and has taught/lectured at American universities including those at ,Illinois, Iowa, New York, North Carolina, Atlanta, Houston, Detroit and also at Oxford, Niteroi, Brazil, Brindisi, Italy, Beirut, Nagoya and Tokyo, Nepal, Sri Lanka,Mauritius and several Universities in South Africa. A former member of APPSC Azam is now a Professor Emeritus attached to the OUCIP as Advisor, Programmes and Development.
