Terming separate subplan necessary for marginalised Muslim community in the new Telangana state, Prof. K Vimla, president ‘Mukta’ a pro-Telangana women united forum, said reservations to dalits, backward classes and tribes including Muslims proportionate to their population are imperative, to fulfill the dream of Golden Telangana and recompense for the injustices done to Dalits, backward classes and tribes.
Prof. Vimala recounted that Muslims had 30 to 40 pc representation in government jobs but after the formation of Andhra Pradesh, Andhrite rulers ousted 40000 Muslims from government jobs on the pretext of lack of English knowledge. She condemned occupation of Sarfa-khas and Waqf properties by Andhrite leaders and investors. She also claimed that Andhrite rulers and investors tried to disrupt communal harmony and Hindu Muslim brotherhood.
Prof. Vimala said now that the Telangana state is being formed and it is going to be the 29th state of the country it is the responsibility of whoever comes to power, to do justice to oppressed, exploited, marginalised and subjugated communities. She pledged to continue her struggle against any type of injustices in Telangana also. She demanded reservations to SC, ST, BC sections including Muslims in all fields. She also demanded reservations and aids to women.
