New Delhi: Institute of Objective Studies (IOS) presented 7th IOS Lifetime Achievement Award to Padmashree Professor Akhtarul Wasey at an event held at Jamia Millia Islamia. Professor Wasey is a well-known Islamic scholar. He was presented the award in recognition of his extraordinary services to society and the nation. Professor Wasey, formerly HOD Islamic Department Jamia Millia Islamia, is currently president Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur.
Chief Guest Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah presented him the scroll. Former Chief Justice of Supreme Court AM Ahmadi presented him the memento. IOS chairman Dr Mohammed Manzoor Alam and former Union minister Dr Shakeel Ahmed gave away a cheque of Rs 1,00,000.
