Jammu, August 30: Jammu and Kashmir government today suspended the functioning of a pesticide unit here with immediate effect on charges of violating Insecticide Acts.
Acting on a report on the pesticide unit, director of agriculture, Vinood Bala, ordered suspension of the functioning of Jai Bharat Crop Chemical Private Ltd.
The unit was found violating the provisions of the Insecticide Acts — 1968 and 1971 — by manual filling of hazardous chemicals.
