Hyderabad, July 4: Digging work is in progress in various places of old city for laying pipelines. At some places nearly one month has elapsed since the work is finished but the roads have been still left potholed. As a result with even the slightest rain the water is getting clogged into the pits. The vehicle riders face various hardships traveling on the jagged roads. The bumpy ride sometimes leads to accidents.
At some places though ditches are dug but pipes have not been laid the water collected in them has become a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes. Representation made to the concerned authorities proves futile since the government does not hold sway over the officials. Hence they work according to own wishes.
Roads of Jahanuma, Vattepally, Saifi colony, Nawab Saheb Kunta, Gazi Millat colony, and Gazi banda are quite battered. God knows on what the crores of rupees sanctioned for the development purpose are spent? Even today people lack facilities. It is the need of the hour to carry out construction work on war footing.
