Hyderabad, July 08: The State Government on Tuesday ordered a common inquiry against former Peishkar and Deputy Executive Officer R Prabhakar Reddy and 18 others of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for the alleged misapropriation of 300 gold coins of five grams each.
By GO (No 665), the Revenue Department sought a written explanation from Prabhakar Reddy and others on the charges framed against them by the Vigilance wing of the TTD.
On July 28, 2007, the then chief vigilance and security officer (CVO) B V Ramana Kumar submitted his report relating to the case and recommended disciplinary action against Prabhakar Reddy and others. He recommended that action be taken against, among others, Prabhakar Reddy, former Par Pathedar, Bokkasam clerk and now OSD P Seshadri and Peishkar A Vasudevan. The report stated that no action could be taken against Dy EOs K Nageswara Rao and N Krishna Reddy and R Ranganathachari as they had retired from service.
Assistant/Shroff K Venkatachalapathi, the main accused, was suspended and later, arrested. He was charged under under Sections 406, 409 and 420 of the IPC.
The CVO report found fault with Prabhakar Reddy for his slack supervision and gross derelection of duty.
The others whom the CVO named in the report included, M Chandrasekhar Reddy, AV Ramammoorthy, A Raghurami Reddy (retired), E Ramachandra Reddy, Superintendent (Peishikar’s office), K Ranganatha Chary, AEO K Chittaranajan, Deputy EO Chenchulaxmi (retired), K Goverdhanam, Sriram, N Gajapati, B Murali Krishnamurthy Raju and G Geetha Kumar.
