Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma today said investigation into the notorious “cash-for-vote” scam case was going on as per the law. The investigating agency ACB was looking into all aspects in the case, the DGP added.
Talking to mediapersons here on Monday, the DGP said forensic report on tapes related to audio and video cassettes of the case is likely to be delivered soon. Replying to a query, the DGP said the ACB would intensify the investigation after getting forensic report in the case.
Making it clear that maintenance of law and order in Hyderabad would be under the control of the Telangana police, the DGP said steps were being taken to fill over 18,000 vacant posts in the Police department shortly. Disclosing that the State government has sanctioned three new battalions out of which one will be stationed at Warangal, the DGP said the Warangal Police Commissionerate would be developed on par with the Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police Commissionerates. Besides, Warangal will have five new police stations soon and the government has sanctioned Rs 5.50 crore for construction of Commissionerate building there. (NSS)
