Probe going off-track, YSRC to tell Prez, PM

The YSR Congress party has alleged that the CBI investigation into YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case has been going off-track with the Joint Director compromising on many issuing including giving false statements to the court. The YSRC said that it would take up the issue at the highest level.

“The recent telephone calls log list and the selective leaks in media goes against the CBI official’s statement that he is not parting with any information with the Press. This double speak of his further strengthens our apprehension of a conspiracy to physically harm YS Jaganmohan Reddy and we will submit a full report on our version to the President, Prime Minister and other high offices,” party MLAs Sobha Nagi Redy and Srikanth Reddy told reporters here on Sunday.

“We have our own doubts about the safety of our leader more so after he was brought to court in an ordinary van, the black-out at Chanchalguda jail and publishing the route he would be taken to court. The phone calls list has confirmed our doubts and we take serious objection to the calls made by the Joint Director to some of our competitors,” they said.

Brushing aside the rumours about the source of the call list, they said, it was taken from a report submitted to the court which is a public document. YS Jaganmohan Reddy has many fans all over the State who would help us with the data, the MLAs said.

The CBI official giving information to a section of media selectively and in-camera proceedings getting into media needs an explanation from the Joint Director.

Though there were efforts to divert the attention by trying to project the calls list as an attack on freedom of press and bringing to the screen a person who logged most calls to make an issue out of it, truth is that the CBI official is not conducting himself in the way which suits his position, they said.

From the beginning we have been telling that the CBI investigation was not going on the right track and the recent events only strengthen our fears that there is a conspiracy by vested interests and CBI has become tool in settling political and corporate scores, they said. (INN)
