Pro-Telangana youth commits suicide in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, January 06: Upset over the “delay” in formation of a separate Telangana state, a 24-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide here, police said today.

Bhooma Reddy, a native of Adilabad district, who was pursuing a multimedia computer course in the city, was found hanging in his room at Erragadda here last night, they said.

A suicide note recovered by Sanathnagar police from the spot said, “I’m sacrificing my life for the cause of Telangana.”

The suicide note further said, “I appeal to the Central government to immediately form Telangana or else more students (from the region) like me will resort to the extreme step,” sources said.

Police booked a case and began investigations today following a complaint by the owner of the house where Bhooma Reddy rented the room.
