Hyderabad, February 17: As a part of their agitation for introduction of T bill in the Parliament, pro-Telangana activists on Wednesday tried to storm the residences of two ministers and five legislators of both Congress and the TDP here demanding their resignations.
Police foiled the attempts of the protestors belonging to the TRS, BJP and the CPI-ML (New Democracy) to storm the residences of ministers and legislators and took several of them into custody and later released them.
TRS activists from Maheshwaram constituency tried to break the police cordon and force their way into home minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy’s house on Wednesday morning.
They demanded that the minister resign to her post and bring pressure on the Centre for introduction of T-Bill in the Parliament.
Though the minister expressed her readiness to take representation from the TRS activists, the latter did not relent and staged a dharna.
As they tried to force their way, police arrested 46 activists and shifted them to Banjara Hills police station.
A minor scuffle ensued when the agitators resisted the police.
At handlooms and textiles minister P Shankar Rao’s residence in Ram Nagar, nearly 15 TRS activists raised slogans demanding his resignation. Shankar Rao assured them to take a decision at an appropriate time.
Not content with the reply, they squatted in front of the house and later tried to force their way into the house.
