Hyderabad, February 13: The Congress central leadership has reportedly conveyed to the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and the PCC chief, Mr D. Srinivas, that it should wait for some more time before initiating any disciplinary action against those party MLAs, who are loyal to the former MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The party’s central leadership was of the view that any action at this juncture would precipitate the issue, ahead of the crucial Budget Session of both the state Legislature and Parliament.
The state leadership was asked to watch the developments in Mr Jagan’s camp, and concentrate on weaning away MLAs and others loyal to him if he launches a separate party in March.
The central leadership has also restrained the state leadership from taking action against MLAs who have spoken out of turn. Recently, the PCC chief while reacting to the former minister and Parkal MLA, Ms Konda Surekha’s outburst against the Congress president, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, had announced that severe action would be initiated against her.
Similarly, when the former Union minister, Mr G. Venkataswamy, made a personal attack against Mrs Gandhi, the state leadership had told the media that it will ask the central leadership to take action against him.
