Pro-Jagan MLAs to meet Governor, Speaker

Hyderabad, September 05: Former minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose on Sunday stated that the 29 pro-Congress MLAs will meet Governor ESL Narasimhan and Speaker Nadendla Manohar to press for acceptance of their resignations.

The MLAs have resigned to their post in protest against the inclusion of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s name in the CBI’s FIR in disproportionate assets’ case against Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy. The MLAs will meet the Governor and Speaker on Monday.

Talking to media persons after YSR Congress party legislators’ meeting held first time after submission of resignations; Bose said that the MLAs have unanimously decided to press for acceptance of resignations. The meeting held at Lotus Pond and chaired by party president Jagan Mohan Reddy was attended by 22 MLAs, MP Mekapati Rajagopal and two MLCs. He said the MLAs would meet Governor on Monday at 11 am and urge him to accept resignations of all 29 MLAs including one Praja Rajyam MLA Shobha Nagireddy and two TDP MLAs Balanagireddy and Nallapuneni Prasanna Kumar Reddy.

Bose said that the MLAs would also appeal to Governor to make efforts for removal of former chief minister YSR’s name from the CBI’s FIR. The MLAs would also make it clear to the Governor that they are withdrawing their support to the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy government. Later in the evening, all the MLAs will meet the Speaker requesting him to accept the resignation.

Meanwhile, Jaganmohan Reddy will be visiting the national capital New Delhi on Monday to garner support of national leaders against the on-going CBI probe against him. He would try to convince the non-Congress parties that the ruling party was resorting to political vendetta after his exit from the party. Subhash Chandra Bose told the media that Jagan Mohan Reddy will soon declare his assets on the lines of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu to maintain transparency and to clear doubts among people about his wealth.

The former minister was confident that more MLAs would submit resignations in the coming days in support of Jagan.
