Priyanka Chopra: One can’t deny the relevance of big banners

Mumbai, January 14: Priyanka Chopra has claimed that it was the script of PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE that made her sign the film. Still, one wonders if she can really deny the fact that bigger comfort came in due to the project belonging to Yash Raj Films?

After all, a certain quality is expected from their banner. Was this the reason why she didn’t worry much while signing a relatively smaller film like this?

“Yes, one can’t deny the relevance of big banners. However, the fact that also cannot be denied is that sometimes even big films don’t work. I have a first hand experience in that because there have been some really big films that I wasn’t convinced about and hence had to decline them”, she states as a matter of fact.

Unwilling to divulge the names of these films, she does reveal though that most of these films didn’t work at the box office.

“This is what further convinced me that had taken the right decisions”, says Priyanka, “On the other hand I have also done small films out of sheer gut instinct and they went on to be very good successes. So you know, one can’t really be sure about this industry which is anyways so unpredictable.”

After the release of PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE, Priyanka Chopra would be seen in Siddharth Anand’s ANJAANA ANJAANI (with Ranbir Kapoor), the shooting of which is currently on. Post the finish of the film’s shoot; she would begin work on Vishal Bharadwaj’s yet untitled film where she appears in the role of a central protagonist.
