Priyanka Chopra: The messiah of newcomers!

Mumbai, January 18: Priyanka Chopra is undoubtedly one of the front runners for the top slot in Bollywood and has the capability of pulling in the crowds on her own merit and presence. And off late, she has become quite choosy as far as roles are concerned.

The most important criteria for Priyanka is the script and role which she demands has to be a challenging one, and she has never really bothered about the leading men in her films. She has worked with newcomers like Harman Baweja, twice in LOVE STORY 2050 and WHAT’S YOUR RAASHEE?, Arjan Bajwa in FASHION, and Uday Chopra in PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE! .

In another project, ANJAANA ANJAANI, she will be seen opposite a relative new comer (albeit an upcoming super star now!), Ranbir Kapoor. When Priyanka had signed Siddharth Anand’s film opposite Ranbir, he had one flop, SAWAARIYA, and one above average, BACHNA AE HASEENO to his credit. The film fraternity is comparing her to the great Meena Kumari, who in her prime worked with a lot of junior actors of that time (Dharmendra being a prime example) and also newcomers, just giving importance to her role without bothering much about the male lead(s).

Here’s hoping that Priyanka manages to achieve similar critical and commercial success like tragedy queen, Meena Kumari.
