Private schools to remain closed

Hyderabad, February 22: Many private schools in the twin cities have decided to remain closed on February 23 and 24 even as the state education department has not given any official communication to the schools in this regard.

“There is no specific announcement by the government on whether the schools will remain closed or will it be a working day for them. Hence, the schools will open as usual. In case of any problems, then the schools might close, which is the normal practice. But as of now there is no directive to shut down schools,” said district education officer (Hyderabad) P Suseendhra Rao.

Managements of certain private schools have decided to play safe and will be likely to remain shut in anticipation of fresh trouble on Monday.

Government schools are likely to remain open.
