Lucknow: A 30-year-old Manager of a private hospital was stabbed in his Lucknow’s residence in plush locality on Tuesday night.
The deceased identified as Vishwajeet Singh Pundhir was stabbed with a sharp object inside his room in his house Gomti Nagar. He immediately ran to his mother and brother to help him, News18 reports.
He was administered CPR when the family rushed him to a nearby hospital and later a surgery was performed.
The stab wound had ruptured one of his arteries but was declared dead within hours.
“The case needs a thorough investigation. A lot of factors are unclear and contradictory,” ADG Rajeev Krishna said.
According to reports, one of the deceased’s friends claimed that he had met the Pundhir at the Polytechnic crossing to smoke around 12:30am only less than an hour before the murder took place.
State Excise Minister Jai Pratap Singh, who knew Pundhir’s family visited the crime spot and said, “It is a very sad incident, but the police are investigating the case thoroughly. I am sure soon the culprits will be caught and punished by law.”
