Increasing traffic has been worrying both for the traffic police and the public. Some officials are taking advantage of this situation. The traffic police hired 14 private cranes for which they are paying Rs. 4,200 daily which works out to Rs. 1,28,000 per month. It is a question to be investigated that who is getting benefit out of it? Govt. owns only 7 cranes.
It is said that during the tenure of office of Sri. D. Srinivas Reddy, DCP and Addl. Commissioner of Police, Mr. D.T. Naik, the system of hiring private cranes had started in 2003. Which is being continued even today. Police Dept. could have bought many cranes if they had saved the amounts paid towards the rents of these cranes.
Govt. should take appropriate action to save public money.
