Mumbai, November 11: Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan will be sworn-in as Maharashtra Chief Minister and NCP’s Ajit Pawar as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
The ceremony will be held at Raj Bhawan at 4.30 pm, official sources said.
Governor K Sankaranarayanan will administer the oath of office and secrecy.
The technocrat-turned-politician Chavan was late Wednesday invited by Maharashtra Governor Sankaranarayanan to form the next government in the state.
Prithviraj Chavan replaces Ashok Chavan, who resigned Tuesday in the wake of allegations of wrongdoing in the Adarsh housing society that was originally meant for war widows and the kin of those killed in the 1999 Kargil war with Pakistan. Pawar takes the place of Chhagan Bhujbal.
