Printing of ballot papers completed: GHMC Chief

GHMC Commissioner & Election Authority Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy said that the printing of ballot papers have been completed in all the 150 divisions. These ballot papers will be pasted on the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMS) at their respective Offices in the presence of the contesting candidates and their representatives.

The Election Authority said that so far 1,600 Micro Observers have been appointed and Senior Observers have conducted training programme to these Micro Observers in the last two days. Besides this, as many as 2,500 Engineering students, who are having Lap Tops of their own, have been deployed for Web Casting duly providing them with data card. Training will also be imparted to these students for effectively taking part of the web casting process of their respective allotted divisions where there are sensitive and hyper sensitive polling stations.

Dr. Janardhan Reddy said that the GHMC has distributed 2,677 Postal Ballot Paper for Service Voters as on today as against 2,281 postal ballot applications have been received. The GHMC has made all elaborate arrangements and minimum basic facilities, drinking water, toilets, ramps for physically challenged people have been provided at all the polling stations in all the 150 divisions, for each polling station there will be a polling party where 1 Presiding Officer, 1 Asst. Presiding Officer and 3 other polling officers have been deputed.

There are around 7,802 polling centres for which additional 20% polling parties i.e., 9,352 have been provided. For counting, which is going to be held on 5th February, the GHMC has arranged 24 counting centres with 893 tables where 3,200 staff have been deployed for counting purpose. He has also informed that so far 40,60,133 (55%) of the voter slips have been handed over to the households in which in person to each household around 33,30,000 through website 3,38,377 and through newly app around 92,047.

The Election Authority said that so far the GHMC has removed 1,81,794 cutouts , flexies, banners, posters, etc., and Rs. 2,08,28,200/- amount has been seized as on today Rs. 1,80,000/- has been seized in L.B. Nagar circle limits. (INN)
