Principal booked for raping minor

Lahore, November 30: Kot Lakhpat police on Tuesday registered a case against a private school principal on charges of raping his 10-year-old student.

The accused, identified as Shahbaz, is still at large.

Labourer electrocuted: A 25-year-old labourer was electrocuted in Johar Town police precincts on Tuesday.

The deceased, Muhammad Akhtar, a resident of Dipalpura, worked in a marble factory located at 316-Canal Road. He was busy in his work when he touched a live wire. As a result, he received a serious electric shock and burns.

He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his burns. Body was handed over to the heirs.

Man found dead: A 35-year-old man was recovered dead under mysterious circumstances in Tibbi City police precincts here on Tuesday.

The deceased, yet to be identified, was lying dead in front of the Lady Willington Hospital. Some passer-by spotted the body and informed the police who removed the body to morgue.

Four ‘robbers’ held: Ichhara police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested four persons involved in robberies and recovered booty and illicit weapons from them.

Those arrested were identified as Khadim Hussain, Ramzan, Javed and Mazhar while their four accomplices were still at large.

59 car lifters arrested: The Anti-Vehicles Lifting Staff arrested 59 alleged vehicle lifters and recovered 212 vehicles from their possession during the last month of October.

This was claimed by CCPO Lahore Malik Ahmad Raza Tahir during a press conference at Investigation Headquarters, Qila Gujjar Singh, on Tuesday.

He said that 24 proclaimed offenders and 27 court absconders were among those arrested, adding that police also recovered 102 cars and 110 bikes from the accused.

He said that an information section had been established at Anti-Car Lifting Squad office at Gulberg, and all DPOs of Punjab, heads of insurance companies and banks had been informed to contact the said section regarding lifted vehicles.

Two truckloads gutted: Discarded paper worth thousands of rupees was reduced to ashes when a fire erupted in two trucks on the Bund Road here on Tuesday.

Cause of the fire could not be ascertained. Firefighters extinguished the fire after hectic efforts.

One truck was partially damaged in the mishap.

PO held: Naulakha police arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a double murder case.

The accused, identified as Sher Khan, was alleged of killing Sajjad Khan and Wali on June, 06, 2011, in Landa Bazaar.
