Prime Minister Modi’s speech touched on every issue that country is facing: Lt. Gen. Hoon

Former western army commander Lt. Gen.P.N Hoon (retired) today praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his well researched maiden Independence Day speech, saying it covered and touched on very issue that the country is facing.

Lt.Gen.Hoon said, “The Prime Minister today has covered a large number of things. Not only the covering of the poverty, but the main thing is that he also said that there should be development in the villages and he is going to earmark people who would be given those villages and they should make it very very clean, nice and slowly and slowly do this”.

Emphasizing on the point of e-governance, Lt. Gen. Hoon said, ” He also spoke about e-governance that is a very important thing. Because with e-governance, a large ambit of people are going to come within the ambit of getting educated and getting a job”.

“He also spoke about procurement and getting people for economic advancement that meant and his words were that we will get the technology from abroad, but we will manufacture in our country…that is the overall finished product will be from our country and will be the best from our country”, he added.

Speaking on the border issue, Hoon said, “Certainly, he said that armed forces have to be vigilant and we do have to be vigilant, I think all of us I mean each and every citizen of the country should be vigilant”.

Modi in his speech had also spoken on female foeticide. (ANI)
