APCC former president D Srinivas here on Monday said there was no need to explain to President Pranab Mukharjee, who knows everything on Andhra Pradesh situation, about bifurcation of the State.
Speaking to the media here, Srinivas said the Seemandhra leaders should not try to create hurdles to formation of separate Telangana State but can raise their problems to notice of the President and Prime Minister, if any. Stressed the need to respect the sentiments of the people of Telangana region, Srinivas said the people of Telangana region have been agitating for separate State since 1956 i.e. immediately after merger of Hyderabad State and Andhra region to form Andhra Pradesh. Contending that Hyderabad city was an integral part of Telangana region, the former PCC chief found fault with the demand to make Hyderabad as Union Territory.
DS said as per the Constitution, anyone can live in Hyderabad, which would become capital of Telangana State. The Seemandhra leaders should respect sentiments of Telangana people. The debate on draft Telangana Bill in the Legislative Assembly should be completed by the deadline set by President of India, he added.
Srinivas reminded that Telangana legislators were ready to participate in the discussion on draft Telangana Bill. Saying that elections 2014 would be conducted in the two Telugu speaking States, he strongly felt it was not possible for anybody to stop formation of separate Telangana State. (NSS)
