Alleging that the United Rulers always announced projects and never shown interest in getting permissions, the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that the united rulers never tried to provide waters to the Telangana region.
Speaking on motion of thanks to Governor’s speech, KCR alleged that the then government spent Rs.8000 crore without entering into any agreement with the Maharashtra government. He alleged that the then Dr YS Rajashekar Reddy government constructed Pulichintala project in Nalgonda district forcefully by deploying police force. The then government also filed cases against the present PCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, senior MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, former MLA Repala Srinivas and Dosapati Gopal and the cases were withdrew in Telangana state. The YSR government also constructed Pothireddypadu and the present Congress MLAs like T Jeevan Reddy extended their support to YSR.
Stating that the Maharashtra had constructed 400 barrages on Godavari River, KCR said that the Telangana state has only option to yield water is from Pranahitha and Indravathi rivers. He said that the government entered into an agreement with the Maharshtra on setting up Inter-state Control Board with the slogan of ‘live and let live others’. He said that the then Congress government announced Thammidihutti project without getting any permissions for it. Devadula project was announced with the aim to take the water for 160 days but in reality the water comes not even 60 dyas. The Devadula project too announced the then government but there were no permissions from the Chathisgarh state, he said.
He said that the present government planned Medigadda project and if it is completed the water will be provided to Nizam Sagar, SRSP projects. He said that the Maharashtra engineers and Telangana engineers would meet on March 19 and later the officials. The Maharashtra Chief Minister Padnavis will come to Hyderabad to finalise the agreement on the projects on Godavari by the Telangana state. (NSS)
