Pressure increasing on Ban on opening new Engineering colleges

(Siasat News) Pressure is mounting on State Govt. for lifting the ban imposed on the opening of new engineering colleges. Engineering Colleges Associations had exerted pressure on the Govt. of A.P. to write to Govt. of India for not allowing any new Engineering colleges in the state because there are plenty of Engineering colleges here.

Many seats in B.E., B.Tech., M.C.A., M.B.A., Pharmacy and Polytechnic courses remained vacant during the past few years. The interesting thing is that AICTE received 41 applications for opening new Engineering Institutions which include 11 engineering colleges, 6 MBA, 2 Pharmacy, and 17 Polytechnics. It is said that these institutions have also obtained ‘No Objection Certificates’ from the Dept. of Technical Education of Govt. of A.P. AICTE had constituted two screening committee which rejected 28 applications for want of necessary infrastructure.
