Press articles and news affect changes in society

Journalism is a very noble profession and hence it was recognized as the fourth pillar of governance and the state. In the present days, electronic media plays a very important role in communicating the latest news to people. Print media also does not lag behind in playing its pivotal role.

In addition to the publication of the news items, publication of journalistic articles are helpful in moulding the minds of people. Hence they are bringing about a change in society. These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy, Union Minister of State for Railways while addressing the members of A.P. Journalists Association in a function held in Zilla Parishad, Kurnool. He was speaking as the Chief Guest of the function.

Mr. Appala Lakshman, Member of Press Council of India had invited the attention of the minister for providing concessions on railway tickets to the journalists by taking only one third of the fare as is being offered by APSRTC in the state. He assured that he would implement it after consulting Govt. of India.

Mr. Alam Mehdi, Vice President of the Association said that the journalists could benefit out of the facilities offered by the Govt. These include housing, bus and train travel etc.

He told that there is a need for the journalists to get united. Only then they could get their problems resolved. He told that election of the Association would be held on 15th & 16th June in Aligarh.

Mr. Chandrasekhara Reddy, S.P. of the District emphatically described the journalists not to communicate wrong message to the public. Mr. Rama Swamy Joint Collector told that his department has cordial relations with journalists in the district. Mr. Rambhoopal Reddy, MLA told that the politicians have a strong bandage with journalists. This profession is viewed respectfully.

Mr. Poonam Raju, President of the Association applauded the efforts of the Kurnool unit. He inaugurated Blood Donation Camp. Mr. Khairath Ali, organizing secretary proposed a vote of thanks. Felicitations were offered to Mr. Khairath Ali, Mr. S. Ismail, Editor of Siyasi Junoon, Mr. Mohammed Mujahid Khan, Editor Tiryaq, Dr. Mohammed Rafiuddin Ghori, Mr. Mohammed Qasim, Editor of Nizam State, Mr. Syed Ikramullah Hussaini, Mr. Mohan Yadavand Mr. Alam Mehdi.
