Hyderabad: After ascertaining the success of Presidential Candidate proposed by NDA, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, MIM declared its support to Congress nominee, Ms. Meira Kumar. President of MIM, Asaduddin Owaisi got this announcement made through MIM MLA of Maharashtra, Mr. Imtiyaz Jaleel despite the fact that there are senior leaders in Hyderabad. Malakpet MLA, Ahmed Balala is very close to MIM President.
BJP was successful in creating a rift between Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad in Bihar. In Telangana, it succeeded in mustering support from TRS. The support extended by MIM is very surprising.
In fact, BJP after making sure the success of its presidential candidate did not bother to approach other political parties which resulted in keeping the veils for the other political parties.
BJP sources indicated that if there was no scope for the success of BJP’s presidential candidate, it would have persuaded the other political parties to abstain from polling. MIM sources indicated that the strategy to declare support to Ms. Meira Kumar from Maharashtra was that the president of MIM wanted to avoid press reporters in Hyderabad.
