President of Tameer-e-Millat writes to CM of UP about Communal Riots

Mr. Mohammed Abdur Rahim Quraishi, President of Tameer-e-Millat wrote a letter to Mr. Akhilesh Sigh Yadav, Chief Minister of UP inviting his attention to control communal riots in UP. Everyday, the news of communal riots are being published in the newspapers in some district or the other.

It is reported that Mr. Praveen Togadia in his speech incited the Hindus to barge into the houses of the Muslims, burn their houses and force them to leave their houses. Criminal cases may be registered against Praveen Togadia and Ashok Singhal under IPC. They should also be arrested for disturbing Communal harmony of the country.

It has also been reported that police is playing the role of silent spectators. Action should be taken against such police officers who have failed to fulfill their duties. District Magistrates should also be made responsible.

Perhaps, the communal elements are giving the reward to the Muslims for supporting Samajwadi Party in the recently held elections. It is certain that some parties are taking undue advantage of your younger age and inexperience. They are trying to consolidate Hindu vote bank and to defeat Samajwadi party in Up.

At this juncture, it is you bounden duty to crush such communal elements with the iron hand of your Government. By controlling communal elements, you should prove yourself that you are a strong Chief Minister who has full control over State administration and your state is free from communal riots.
