President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday condoled the loss of lives in the road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah district on Saturday.
“President Mukherjee condoles the loss of lives in a road accident in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh yesterday (Saturday),” a tweet from the official Twitter account of Rashtrapati Bhavan said.
At least 19 people, including eight children, were killed when a speeding truck hit two tractor-trollies full of people.
The accident took place at National Highway 91 when the people were returning after attending a religious congregation in Puranv village.
