Hyderabad: The Centre today issued orders appointing Chief Justice of newly created Andhra Pradesh High Court. The senior most judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court Justice Praveen Kumar has been appointed Chief Justice of the State. He would assume charge on January 1, 2019.
In its orders, the Centre also stated that the current Chief Justice of the High Court Justice TB Radhakrishnan would continue in his post as the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court. The Centre’s decision to appoint new Chief Justice comes in the wake of issuance of a gazette notification by the President bifurcating the existing High Court at Hyderabad on Wednesday. In its orders, the President allotted 14 judges to Andhra Pradesh and 10 judges to the Telangana State. However, the Centre has allotted two more judges Justice RS Chouhan and Justice Rama Subramanian to Telangana State in fresh orders.
