Presenting, the new Queen Elizabeth II from ‘The Crown’

Washington: Days after ‘The Crown’ got 13 Emmy nominations; Netflix has revealed the first look of the show’s new monarch.

English Actress of ‘Broadchurch’ fame, Olivia Colman, has replaced Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II for seasons three and four of the web television series, confirmed The Hollywood Reporter.

Colman will star alongside Tobias Menzies, who plays Prince Phillip and replaces Matt Smith.

Meanwhile, Helena Bonham Carter will play Princess Margaret, taking over from Vanessa Kirby, Erin Doherty will play Princess Anne, Jason Watkins will play Harold Wilson, and Ben Daniels will portray Antony Armstrong-Jones.

Based on an award-winning play by showrunner Peter Morgan, this lavish, Netflix-original drama, chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s to modern times.

As decades pass, personal intrigues, romances, and political rivalries are revealed, that played a big role in events that shaped the later years of the 20th century.
