Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari today directed officials to prepare detailed project reports (DPRs) for three proposed outer ring roads for Warangal, Mahabubabad and Janagaon districts in the State.
Chairing a review meeting with Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, Tribal Welfare Minister Ajmira Chandulal and officials here in the Assembly conference hall, Srihari wanted that the DPRs should be prepared at the earliest to take up the works. Since Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has already reviewed these ring roads with special focus, priority should be given to complete the process, he said.
Srihari asked Nageshwar Rao to take initiative to speed up the DPR works. He asked the officials to convert two national highways passing through these towns into by-pass roads and include to the outer ring road alignments to improve connectivity and reduce expenditure to great extent. He also expressed displeasure at the sluggish pace of works though KCR reviewed it two years ago.
On completion of the detailed project reports, Roads & Buildings department has to take up the ORR works, he said. He also said construction of ORRs will prove handy and give fillip to industrial growth and education in the three districts, he said. He also asked the officials concerned to monitor field level visits for two days to speed up the works. Srihari asked the officials to submit the DPRs to NHAI to take up works worth Rs 70 crore to construct a parallel road-over-bridge connecting Fatima Nagar and Kazipet besides converting 4km road into four-lane road connecting Gattamma area with Bhupalapally for ensuing Sammakka-Sarakka jathara next year.
