Preparations in Nepal’s Janakpur on ahead of PM Modi’s visit

Janakpur: Nepal’s historical and ancient city of Janakpur has revamped the preparations to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi this month.

The leaders and the ministers of Nepal’s Province no. 2 on Thursday came onto street sweeping and cleaning the streets ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s two-day visit, scheduled from 11-12 May.

Rastriya Janata Party- Nepal’s leaders and the Chief Minister of Province No. 2 came down on street on Thursday to clean off the roads in Janakpurdham.

Furthermore, Indian envoy to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri on Wednesday toured the area and surveyed about the preparations.

Prime Minister Modi will fly to Janakpur from where he will start his two-day visit of Nepal.

He is scheduled to fly to Janakpur from Patna through the helicopter and then head to Muktinath temple in Mustang district and perform puja there.

More than 50,000 people from all eight districts of the province are expected to gather at the Barhabigha ground, where the Province No. 2 government is set to organise the felicitation ceremony to honour Prime Minister Modi.

The state government also has revamped the tasks of clearing the demolished structures on the way to Janaki Temple from the Barhabigha ground.

The government is planning to set up welcome gates, Kalash (a metal pot with a large base and small mouth, large enough to hold a coconut) and flowers to decorate the road and other places.

In addition to this the Government is expecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the people present in the ground during the felicitation ceremony.(ANI)
